How to Remove AI Info from a Facebook Post — 3 Steps

Prepare a local photo before your next upload. Removing file metadata does not remove Facebook’s label from an existing post or guarantee the result of a new upload.

Upload

Choose the final photo from your device. Despite the familiar upload step, all image processing stays inside your browser.

Clean

Select Remove metadata, review the result, and download the new copy. Keep the original if you need its capture details or editing history.

Post

Select the downloaded image in a new Facebook post or album. Check each selected photo and add any required AI disclosure.

What Is "AI Info" on Facebook — Can You Turn It Off in Settings?

AI info describes how content was created or edited. An upload disclosure control and a label Facebook applies automatically are different things: changing a creator setting does not necessarily override a platform label. This tool offers no account-wide switch to disable AI info.

On your phone

To remove AI info metadata from a Facebook post image on your phone, open the cleaner in your mobile browser, choose the photo, and download the result. Save it from Files or Downloads to your photo library if needed. Select that copy when creating a new post; the Facebook app’s settings do not clean your local file.

On desktop

Drag in your final export, clean it, and save the download to a clearly named folder. Choose the downloaded copy in Facebook’s post composer. Inspect the context attached to a live label; this website cannot edit that post or its disclosure controls.

Facebook and Instagram Share One Meta Labeling Stack

Both services use Meta’s published approach to AI labeling, including industry signals and creator disclosures. Here, “one Meta labeling stack” describes that shared approach; it is not a claim that every surface uses identical internal detection code.

The same cleaned source image can be prepared for either service, while upload controls and label presentation can differ. On Facebook, check each photo in an album or Page post; on Instagram, select the correct Story photo or carousel slide.

Where Facebook Applies the Label

Check the label context on the content you are viewing. Presentation and controls can vary by surface and account; this cleaner supports the local still images below, not a guaranteed label outcome on every Facebook surface.

Feed

Prepare individual photo posts and every image in a new album. Cleaning one photo does not change other attachments or an existing Feed post.

Page

Clean the final images your team will upload to a Page. Keep an original master for attribution and approvals, and make sure collaborators use the downloaded copies.

Reels

A separate still cover can be cleaned when the posting workflow accepts one. The Reel video, audio, and its platform label are not modified.

Marketplace

The cleaner can prepare local listing photos. It cannot change listing disclosures, moderation decisions, or guarantee where AI info appears. Keep product images accurate and preserve attribution you need.

What Triggers the AI Info Label on Facebook

Meta describes using industry signals and disclosures from people uploading content. Embedded provenance can supply context about generation or editing; a creator’s disclosure is separate from those file records.

C2PA, XMP, and EXIF have different purposes. A camera name or an editing application in metadata is not, by itself, proof that Facebook will apply a label. Removing these records does not erase other signals or the platform’s stored history.

False Positives: Real Photos Flagged as AI

A real product shot or portrait can pass through an AI-assisted editor. That export may document an edit even though the scene was photographed. A broad label can therefore tell viewers less than your original file and editing history do.

Compare the camera original with the edited export in the metadata viewer. Do not assume that a label proves full generation, or that an empty metadata report proves a photo is authentic. For a live labeling issue, use the support options Facebook makes available.

What This Tool Removes

The tool strips embedded C2PA provenance, XMP, EXIF including GPS, IPTC, and PNG text records from supported images. It preserves image data for ordinary JPG, PNG, and WebP inputs and keeps color profiles by default. Orientation correction and AVIF inputs require PNG conversion.

It cannot remove SynthID pixel watermarks, visible watermarks, published Facebook labels, or external provenance records. It does not process videos or disable Meta AI in search or Messenger.

Facebook AI Label Removal: What Creators Should Know

Use a cleaned copy when you want fewer personal or editing records embedded in a future photo upload. Keep the master file and check your download before sharing it with a Page team or adding it to an album.

Metadata removal is not a replacement for accurate product descriptions, attribution, or required AI disclosures. Changing the local file does not revise an existing post or certify that its content was created without AI.

FAQ

How do I remove AI info from a Facebook post?

For a new upload, clean the final photo in this browser tool and select the downloaded copy in Facebook. It cannot edit a label on a post that is already published, and a cleaned file may still receive a label.

Can I remove AI info from Facebook on my phone?

Yes, you can clean embedded metadata from local photos in a modern mobile browser. Save the result from Files or Downloads and select it for a new post. This does not change your Facebook settings or live posts.

Is there a Facebook setting that turns off every AI info label?

This tool cannot provide such a switch. Creator disclosure settings and labels Facebook applies itself are distinct; changing a disclosure does not guarantee removal of an automatic label.

Does this work for Facebook Page photos and albums?

Yes, for supported local images before posting. Clean all the photos in the album or Page post, download them, and select those copies. Existing albums and Page content are not updated.

Will this remove AI info from a Facebook Reel?

No. You can prepare a separate still cover where supported, but this image cleaner cannot process a Reel video or change its platform label.

Does this turn off Meta AI on Facebook or Messenger?

No. Assistants, search features, and recommendations are separate from image metadata. This tool does not access or configure your account.

Will cleaning change image quality?

Ordinary JPG, PNG, and WebP files keep their compressed image data, with color profiles preserved by default. Images requiring EXIF orientation correction are exported as PNG. AVIF also converts to PNG and its HDR or color appearance may change. Check the conversion notice and preview before posting.

Is this free, and are my photos uploaded?

The tool is free and runs locally in your browser, with no account required. Your images and metadata are not sent to our servers. Download the results before closing or refreshing the page.
